Third ATM stolen by masked males from Marriott close to Bush Airport

HOUSTON – Three ATMs have been stolen from three different Houston Marriott hotels in as many nights.

Police said that on Thursday around 1:15 a.m., four men wearing masks ran into the lobby of the hotel at 18700 John F. Kennedy Blvd, near Bush Airport and snatched the ATM.

A valet employee told police he saw a machete in the waste band of one of the men after he yelled at them.

The men put the machine in a blue and white or blue and silver Dodge Magnum and drove away in that and a Nissan that fits the description of one that was taken in a carjacking on Wednesday night, police said.

On Tuesday eight masked men stole an ATM from a Marriott in the Galleria. On Wednesday, a Courtyard Marriott in southwest Houston was hit. The only difference between the thefts is the number of men involved.

Police hope surveillance video from each location will help catch the thieves.

The Marriott corporation has not yet said what it plans to do to prevent future ATM thefts.
